Sometimes in my quest for world foodie domination, I encounter new sites that promise a lot but rarely deliver. So when I found Feast through Sverve I was super excited to find out more about it and try it out! Feast does a really good job at summarizing their mission and statement so I will let them take it from here.
What is Feast?
Easy-to-follow online cooking classes to help you cook more inspiring, creative meals and learn badass techniques from experienced chefs along the way.
Our goal is to make it easy and fun for even the most average schmoe to become a more confident, badass cook in their own kitchen.
No jargon, no intimidation. Just fun, down-to-earth, feasting.
Wow that sounds really good! I am a pretty good cook but can always use help! Lucky for me Feast has a couple of free classes that I could choose from. So I decided to try the Paleo noodles. Once inside I found that it was pretty badass, just like they claim! The first page had full color pics of the ingredients, what tools I would need and tips.
Once I read through all that, I entered the classroom. I was surprised to find that not only were there videos explaining the recipe,, there were gorgeous full color photos and written instructions as well! No tiny little “first you do this” and “then you do that.” No, these were gorgeous and very clear cut. They made me feel like I could do this before I even picked up the peeler!
As if that wasn’t awesome enough, there were also tips provided by someone I like to call “no body dude”. Don’t let the name fool you though, I learned a lot from his big head!
At the end of the class they give you even more ways to feast out on what you just learned! I loved this part because it helped me be a little more creative in the kitchen.
Interested in being a badass in the kitchen too? Good! I will let the good folks over at Feast tell you how it works!
Each class uses a combination of quick videos and step-by-step images to walk you through the class at your own pace. (Want to see what it looks like? You can take our fermentation mini-class fo FREE!)
Once you sign up for the class, you can ask questions and get feedback from the teacher any time.
You can take the classes any time, at your own pace. Once you buy the class, it’s yours forever.
The best part about taking our classes is you can do them at home with your roommates, significant other, friends…whomever you want.
I love that last line because it makes for some serious family times. I want the girls to learn how to cook before they go to college so they are not surviving on Ramen, Fast Food or dorm fare. Feast is going to make them very popular with their roommates!
In addition to my free lesson, I also signed up for their free 7 day crash course. It was delivered right to my mailbox and I learned so many things, like:
- How to use my tongue
- Become a knife ninja
- How to cook without a recipe
- What order to cook my ingredients
- Fix a broken dish
- How to
be, I mean make my food look sexy - How to crack an egg..the right way
Lessons range from $10.00 to $15.00. If you are wanting to learn new techniques this is definitely the site for you! I can’t wait to take more lessons and really kick my cooking skills up a notch and become a kitchen ninja!
Feast was founded by David Spinks and Nadia Egbal. Jeremy Umansky is the chef with the mostest and does the lessons.
