I review a lot of items here on the blog but every once in awhile something will come in my e-mail that makes me say “Ohhh”. Sometimes it is a bad “Ohhh” but every once in awhile it is a good one. It is that sigh mixed with magic and a little bit of shock. That is how I felt when I first saw the wood watches from Jord. They are unique and gorgeous. I love unique items and especially love giving them as gifts. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the Ely Series - Maple watch, it would make a beautiful Valentine’s Day gift.
Jord also has you covered with presentation. When my watch arrived it was in a sleek, contemporary styled box. There was nothing splashy on it, kind of plain. But when you opened it, nestled on rich style pillow was this gorgeous watch. Again, the “ohhh” escaped.
I will admit it looked stunning but was it sturdy? Was it waterproof? Was it rough? I had a lot of questions and thankfully the answers weren’t to far away. Jord had a lot of helpful information and I filled in the rest with my review.
Was it sturdy?
In my opinion it was more sturdy than standard watches. It is very well put together and has a single action locking clasp that is large. It makes putting it on a breeze but also protects it from being lost. It won’t just pop open, when it is closed, it is closed.
Was it waterproof?
The watches are designed to be splash proof but are not intended to be completely immersed in water. So make sure to take it off before a shower, washing dishes or swimming.
Was it rough?
I don’t know about you but when I think wood, splinters automatically come to mind. Weird, I know. So I was wondering about the wood. Was it polished? I was assuming it was but you never know. I was very pleased to find that it was completely polished and no rough edges.
I really can’t say enough about these watches. They are so unique and not just because they are wood. Given the variations of wood naturally most pieces look a little different than the last. So your watch won’t look exactly like mine. I think that is so cool!
If you really want to Wow someone on Valentine’s Day this would definitely do it. Jord has many styles and sizes to choose from, so you won’t have any problem finding one your gift receiver will love!
