Eating healthy is not as boring as I thought it would be. As you all know I am challenging myself to eat one healthy meal a day, breakfast. I will admit in the last two weeks I have seen my habits change. Eating a Simple Start breakfast is pretty tasty and depending on which one I choose, I find myself full for most of the day. Usually for lunch I grab some fruit or a yogurt. I really love that because I don’t feel all weighed down from eating heavy meals because I feel like I am starving. Or grabbing a bag of chips because I am busy and don’t have time to fix a proper lunch.
I think starting slow was a good choice for me because it gave me options. First of all I am able to change my eating habits gradually and I am not shocking my body. Secondly let’s face it, sometimes eating healthy can be pretty costly. By choosing to do it gradually I am learning how to shop healthy and budget my money. That way as I work up to lunch and dinner I am not spending a ton of money. Also, I am not counting points and honestly I like that because I don’t have time for that. Sometimes I have to just be honest with myself and I know that if I had to stop, count points and figure out what to eat each day I would give it up in a heartbeat. If you are thinking about making changes to your eating habits I would highly recommend starting simple, like breakfast and moving up to lunch and then dinner.
I think what has motivated me the most is how simple it is. I choose a recipe and go. Or if I want, I choose a recipe and change it around to make it more appealing to me. I don’t really like tuna sandwiches but love tuna salad. So I take the tuna salad recipe and put it on some lettuce, roll it up and I have an amazing tuna salad lettuce wrap. Sometimes all you need to stay on course is a little creativity.
I would highly recommend Weight Watchers Simple Start to anyone that is looking to eat a little more healthy and doesn’t have time for a full plan. I think it is totally worth the cost to try it out for 30 days. You can tailor it to fit you and your lifestyle. No counting points, no complicated meal plans or pre-packaged food. To me that is an amazing thing and I am really looking forward to seeing how much better I am eating in a few months!
Have you ever tried Weight Watchers? If so, how was your experience? If not, do you plan to?
