As many of you know Avery had a knife pulled on her in school last year and in an instant our life fall apart. I was homeschool and my beautiful daughter, that had already fought bullies so much was shattered. She had a hard time dealing with things and she developed anxiety because of it. It was a hard situation. I sent her back to school this year because she needed to get back into the swing of things, especially if she wanted to go to technical school for cosmetology next year. The transition was not easy and it was a constant battle. When Alianna was being homeschooled she fell in love with The Avengers and Thor. She has a huge crush on Loki and the actor that plays him. When she recieved her phone I started using a program called Textagram to bolster her self esteem and ease anxiety. When she started crying, not wanting to go to school, I took it one step further and started sending her silly Loki-grams. It is such a silly and trivial thing but it makes the day easier because she knows they are coming and when she gets anxious, upset or scared she imagines Loki wouldn’t be. Kind of silly? Hell yeah. Does it work? Hell yeah. If it helps I am all for it. When I was her age I used to sit in school and dream about Johnny Depp coming in and taking me away, so there you go. Such a tiny thing that no one would really care about, but to her it is a lot. Sometimes I really wish I could thank Tom for his help.
Here is one I sent her this week, it made her giggle:
She was having a bad day and she thanked me for making her giggle. That to me is worth everything. Thor 2 is coming to theaters November 8th and Avery doesn’t know but I plan on taking her out of school to see it. She deserves the treat and I know it is going to mean a lot to her. I watched these three clips and I must say I am just as excited to see it. Even though if it was me, I would totally be all about Thor and dreaming of him stealing me away. LOL! Ahhh, to be young again!
