I love gel eyeliner! It is so much easier to apply then liquid but oh my gosh! It is so expensive and I don’t wear make-up enough to justify spending 8 or 9 dollars on eyeliner I might wear 5 times in 3 months. So, I learned to make my own! I love sparkly makeup and this metallic gel eyeliner fits that! It is super easy to make and only takes up about 10 minutes of your time! It is also great for party favors or gifts!

My girls wear makeup more than I do and they always have extra eye shadows they don’t use because they don’t like. Those are perfect for this!

Ingredients:

2 Different eye shadows- I used a pretty light blue and a dark blue.

Glitter Eye Powder- I use LA Looks which you can find at the Dollar Tree. It comes in different colors but I like the gold and silver best.

Vaseline

a small jar to put it in- Again, the dollar tree is your best friend.

a sharp knife to break up the powder

a spatula or something to stir it- I use the end of one of my old make up brushes.

Step 1.

Break up your eye shadows and add a liberal amount of your shimmer powder. I used gold this time. Take care to not overly mix them. Instead of a pretty color you will end up with a gloppy mess.

Step 2.

Pour into a small container. Again, take care not to over mix.

Step 3

Add a small amount of vaseline.

Step 4.

Mix well. Make sure to get all the shadow from the creases of the jar. It will have highs and lows, plus plenty of sparkle! As with any gel eyeliner make sure you put a tad bit of translucent powder to lock into place. Or if you want extra shimmer brush a little shimmer powder over it.

That is it! 4 easy steps and you have enough to last you at least 30 days. This will definitely save you money!

If you do this, please come back and tell me how it worked for you!

Oh my gosh! I just tried this a few minutes ago for the first time and I absolutely love it!! Thanks!

  2. Doesn’t the Vaseline make the liner smudgy and runny after a few hours?

  3. Can you put it on your waterline?
