I do a lot of research on the internet. I guess it dates back to my copyright manager days when I had to research countless copyright violations. Of course now I research things that are way more fun. Let’s see I get to research; food, recipes, food, recipes, oh and did I mention food? In those travels I will find a diamond in the sea of stones that makes me want to say “Oh Em Gee.” That happened this week (well last week because this post was scheduled.) when I found this amazing site called Good Company and guess what? It has a magazine that is online, YAY! This is a magazine that makes you want to draw the curtains and lock the door so no one walks in on you staring at your screen and drooling over glorious, amazing food pictures and articles.
Good Company was co-created by Food Stylist Bobbi Lin and Art Director Debi Kogan. The tag line is three words; people.tools.ingredients. The first thing that catches your eye when you open the site is the very simple, yet creative logo. It is one of those logos that stick with you because it is not overly obtrusive. The styling of the site is clean and easy to navigate. I love sites that are easy to navigate and user friendly. The picture has a homey feel, as if the site itself is welcoming you to its part of the internet. It invites you to sit down and partake of what it has to offer. I am a link clicker andI love to click a link to see where it takes me. (Yes, that has sometimes got me in a lot of trouble). But this one time I didn’t want to click, I wanted to scroll and I did. Finding nestled at the bottom their “philosophy” if you will or maybe you would call it a mission. It is just two lines that expand on their tagline:
Your favorite PEOPLE + the right TOOLS + seasonal INGREDIENTS =
GOOD COMPANY
I felt like I was in good company already. After I liked their Facebook and subscribed to their newsletter, I scrolled back up and clicked on Magazine. That is all I remember for a bit. I was induced into some kind of food coma as I browsed the pictures and read the articles that interested me. It is in the cover of that magazine you learn what People, Tools, and Ingredients mean. It is not just a clever tag line; it is a new way to see food, the people that create it, the gadgets that create it, and finally the bounty that helps create it. I won’t go into much detail because you need to discover it and I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
It seems like everywhere you turn there is something new on the internet that relates to food. A new foodie blog, stylists, sites, etc. It really takes a keen eye and a passion to stand out amongst the thousands. I honestly believe Good Company is going to stand out and be that shining star in the company of hundreds. I am very excited for their store opening and the recipes are a must try. Good Company has hit the ground running and I wish them all the success in 2013!
Hi Dear, are you actually visiting this site daily,
if so then you will without doubt obtain nice knowledge.
Do you remember the TV table tennis game from the late 70’s.
