Heroes in Heels is a message for today’s women who, whether trying to balance everyday demands in five- inch stilettos or racing around town in worn out athletic shoes, squander way-too-many years feeling overwhelmed, unfulfilled, restless, confused, and disappointed.
Imagine waking up every morning fully alive, with gratitude in your heart, inspired and excited to embrace your day. Imagine how it would feel to place your head on the pillow every night completely fulfilled, celebrating a sense of purpose and passion.
Heroes in Heels delivers a fresh approach to create the fulfilling life you’ve always dreamed of living. Through a simple daily process that takes just minutes a day, you will enjoy personal heartfelt stories, inspirational quotes, positive affirmations, and brief journal entries. These key elements are the natural building blocks which provide the foundation to living the magnificent and rewarding life you deserve.
First, let me just start by saying this is two reviews in one. First about the book and secondly about the red bag. I highly encourage you to read this review in it’s entirety. The red bag is an amazing and unique gift for any woman in your life that needs uplifting or is your hero. Carrie approached me about doing a review of her book and the bag. I was immediately intrigued because what a lot of you don’t know is that sometimes I am very unhappy with who I am. I really wanted to read this book and the whole idea with the bag was so clever I had to have it.
The 30 Day Journey
What is the 30 day journey? It is a simple, daily system to provide key ingredients for the recipe of success in a daily life of love and fulfillment. Sounds like a sales pitch, doesn’t it. Yeah, I inserted the eye roll while reading that. However, I was intrigued enough to keep going. The formula was rather simple. Each day started with a brief personal story shared by other women that have performed an act of kindness toward another woman or who was a recipient of an act of kindness. Next was a motivating quotation that would set the tone for my day. Then I performed an affirmation to help set the intention of my day. Then I had to acknowledge and record my gratitude for the day. Lastly, I had to journal at the end of the day about the act of love I gave ( my heroic moment) as well as record my feelings after sharing this gift. Sounds pretty easy, right? It really is! I am not going to share my journey because it is a personal one but I can say that I have seen true changes in my life. Things I have been holding on to and berating myself for are slowly easing away. I have helped touch other people and it is the best feeling in the world. I may not be someone’s hero and I am okay with that, but I know now you don’t need to be a hero to do something for someone else. Any small act is remarkable.
I am not the self-help, gungho, jump on the crazy wagon type of person. I am very leery of people that promise me success or personal enlightenment and that is the truth. But this book wasn’t about me. Did it help me, yes! But this was more about what I could do for someone else! This isn’t a book that asks you how you felt about the cupcake that fell in the floor when you were 8. This book is about helping others, contributing to the world we live in, and performing one small act of kindness, because that can be the key to happiness and enrichment. I highly recommend this book for anyone that wants to have a journey with themselves or even someone that just wants to read great, uplifting stories from others.
The Red Bag
This is so unique and clever! The Red Gift Bag is something you share with others. Fill it with a book you love ( or a copy of the Hero In Heels book) and a bottle of wine. Then pass it on to a woman you love or a special person that needs some uplifting. The bag is meant to be passed around and each bag comes with a unique code that you can track. Just type your tracking number on the site and you will be able to fill in the information for the bag ( what book you included, the style of wine, etc.). You will be able to track it’s journey as it is re-gifted over and over! Finally a gift that is acceptable to re-gift!
You know what is one of the best parts? This can be one of your acts of kindness during your 30 day journey. The second best part? The bags are made in the USA by women and a percentage of each sale goes to support Women literacy programs. You really cannot go wrong with this gift. A great bag, a bottle of killer wine, and a good book is the pinnacle of gift giving. This would be great a birthday, Christmas, Mother’s Day, book club meeting, wine tasting event, Holiday Party, a challenging time, to say thank you, a new mom, a new bride, or simply just to let a gal pal know you love her!
You can follow Carrie on Twitter. You can also friend her on Facebook.
I will be giving away a signed copy of the book and the bag as part of Dishin’ With Rebelle’s Holiday Gift Guide giveaway on December 1st!
Till We Dish Again,
Bobbie

That sounds like an awesome book! I have found that quite often when I need uplifting; it is when I am doing something great for someone else that I’m most uplifted myself.
