Snapple is my new best friend! Have you heard of Snapple Half and Half? It is half tea, half lemonade and full on awesome! We decided to take Snapple to all of our Independence day activities and show them how we celebrate the 4th here in my little town. It was a fun but tiring weekend and Snapple was the star of the show!
You can see my shopping experience ( and find out just how popular Snapple Half and Half is), plus more pictures of our weekend HERE.
Carnival and Snapple
The first stop was the carnival and boy was it hot. There was a little bit of a breeze going but it was still “hot as hades” out there. We didn’t need the cooler this time because we were only going to be there a couple of hours, so we put our Snapple half and half into our cooler bag and hit the road. Every year since their first carnival the first ride is the bears. They are big enough that Roxy and Avery can still ride them, so we keep the tradition going. Of course judging from Roxy’s face, Mom snapping a picture of them riding a baby ride might not have been the best thing. But I don’t care, I’m the Mom, my phone, my rules. HA!
Money saving tip- Carnival food is expensive. A funnel cake this year was $7.00 and drinks were $8.00 for a large. Normally we would buy a large drink and share but this year we each asked for a cup of ice. They sell those for a $1.00. We filled our cups up with Snapple Half and Half, saving us a bundle. It went real good with our funnel cake!
Our Parade and Snapple, The Best Idea Ever!
The next day we headed out for our towns 4th of July celebration and the first stop was the parade! This time we packed our big cooler because we were going to be gone at least 4 hours. If you want a good spot at the parade you have to get there early. My Dad is notorious for finding us a spot in the shade. I have no idea how he does it but he does it every year. I was on a budget this weekend and parade food is even more expensive than carnival food. Last year I spent a bundle on food and drinks. It is hot and you get thirsty but this year we stopped at McDonalds and got lunch. Our cooler was full of Snapple and Water. We were good to go. I saved myself a $100.00 by bringing our own and that felt really good! Snapple Half and Half comes in a 64 oz personal bottle. I was able to by 4 for each person and it lasted all weekend. Walmart has the best deals on Snapple Half and Half right now, even offering a coupon on their website. Also, coming soon is a photo contest!
Fireworks and Snapple Go Boom!
We headed home after the parade to cool down and rest up for the fireworks. Again, we took the cooler. We got there a little earlier than we needed to be but we got a good spot as you can see from the picture above. So the girls decided to have fun with their Snapple bottles. The first one in the post is Roxy kissing hers and here is Avery cuddling hers:
and even my Dad had to get in the action by taking a big swig of his!
Snapple Goes Redneck!
The next day we headed out to the lawnmower races! I love going to them and watching all the souped up lawnmowers whiz around the track. It is really fun, especially when they wreck ( as long as nobody gets hurt of course). The lawnmower races are held at our Steppingstone Musuem and is part of family fun day. They have music, food, a car show and this year they had a sock hop which was a lot of fun. We carried our snapple around with us because you are not allowed to take your own cooler inside. That 64 oz size really came in handy because we were there about 5 hours. My favorite activity, besides the races, is the car show. People bring them from 3 different states and they are beautiful!
And there was a wreck. One of the drivers was following to close to another lawnmower and the lawnmower in front of that one spun when he went into a curve. The driver that was being followed to close hit is brakes and the other driver ran into him. He actually damaged his lawnmower and it was funny when he got mad enough to throw the hood cover they had to rip off. He was waving his arms around and fussing at the other driver. I wish I could have heard what he was saying.
All in all it was a very fun weekend! I am so excited I got to work with Collective Bias and Snapple on this campaign! There are so many wonderful bloggers that work with Collective Bias and each month they put out a beautiful magazine! I think you will love it and hope you will check it out below!
