Every once in a while I find an app that just makes me *squee* in excitement! I don’t have an iPad, I won a Kindle. My daughter however does and when I found out about Next Issue I was first in line to try it. Unlimited magazines for $14.99 a month? Sign me up!

I headed over to their website just to check it out and see if it was worth that amount each month. It definitely was. They had some of my favorite magazines:

  • Saveur
  • Bon Apetit
  • Every Day with Rachel Ray
  • Food and Wine
  • Food Network
  • Entertainment Weekly
  • People
  • Rolling Stone

I am going to be honest and say I either subscribe to those magazines or buy them every month from newsstands. I am a magazine fanatic. So to find out I could read all of those magazine, INCLUDING past issues, I was sold almost immediately. A lot of apps promise a lot but don’t deliver, so even though I was sold I still had some hesitation. What would the quality be like? Could I read the tiny print? Would the pictures be clear ( a must with cooking magazines)? Would I have to wait a long time to download? I had a lot of questions but the only way I was going to find out was download the app.

It was very easy to download, make an account and pay for the subscription. After it downloaded and was opened, I was excited to see I could start building my library right away. ( note: All of these pics are screen shots directly from my daughters iPad Mini, they have not been altered in any way)

So far so good! It was very easy to add titles and soon I had several magazines right at my fingertips. I downloaded Saveur first and was ecstatic when I saw all the back issues. I swear I felt like that baby with the fist in those meme. SCORE!

I clicked on the first one and it downloaded within 3 minutes. I was so excited and nervous you would have thought I was waiting on a pregnancy test, lol! Finally it was downloaded and WOW, it was amazing. The pictures were crisp and clear, I could read the print and it was like reading a real magazine.

Is that AWESOME or what? Okay, so my cooking mags were perfect. Now I wanted to check out Entertainment Weekly because a girl has to keep up with all the celebrity news. I was super excited to see the back issues for it and it was just as clear as the cooking ones.

This is my new favorite app and probably will be for a long time. Deciding to purchase will be a personal decision but here are the pros to getting the app:

  1. There is a 30 day free trial. Meaning you can try it for 30 days and decide then if you want to keep it. I like to call that “WOOHOO” pay.
  2. One single app offers you 90 of the most popular magazines. This definitely decreases the clutter in your house.
  3. You can have one account and sync it to 5 devices. How awesome is that?
  4. No more paper cuts!

The only con I have right now is it is not available for Nook or Kindle. I am hoping maybe they will change that at some point in time because trying to get the iPad away from my daughter is like prying my cookbooks away from me, it aint happening!

If you try out Next Issue I would love to hear your experience in the comments! You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.
