I know so many people that are affected by allergies. Sneezing, coughing, stuffy nose, red swollen eyes are just some of the symptoms they suffer from. My oldest daughter, Roxy has severe allergies. The fall and winter seem to be the worse time for her and she is also an asthma sufferer, so she gets it two fold. We use Zyrtec for her allergies because it blocks the production of histamine and reduces inflammation. Also, it tackles all of her symptoms such as a runny nose, itchy watery eyes, and sneezing.
Now that she is in high school her appearance means a lot to her. She will be turning 16 soon and that is the “magic” number for dating. The allergies reek havoc on her appearance and she is always looking for ways to cover up the redness from the runny nose and itchy eyes. Dust, mold and tree pollen are the worst offenders and in school dust and mold are always present. So you can only imagine what a nightmare the fall/winter are for her because she is in an enclosed space. When everything turns red her self esteem suffers. She doesn’t want to be known as red faced swollen girl. Zyrtec really helps with the symptoms and she has figured out ways to combat the residual effects. Foundation is her best friend but not just any foundation. She uses a foundation that is free of any harmful ingredients such as glycerin and baby powder. Also, cold compresses applied for 10 minutes to the swollen areas works wonders. Another good way to combat the swollen areas is to sleep elevated. Roxy is always looking for more ways to help and we was so happy when we saw this video from Zyrtec about Allergy Face beauty tips! She is going to try some the next time she has a flare up.
I was reading the following infographic and I was surprised to see that 50% of allergy sufferers miss big events because of symptoms. I guess Roxy is not the only one embarrassed by allergy face and she has missed events because of it. She is also in the 40% that wears oversize sunglasses and she has quite the collection!

Well, this is quite timely as I’m feeling like crud today. I don’t think I’m “sick”, but think it has to be allergies and I feel like I look like crud too! Very informative infographics.

Oh. Those dates. Eek.
My son has allergies too. We use a nasal spray with medicine. It’s odd for boys to disguise
