If you missed the Today Show on Memorial Day you missed a very heart warming moment. Chevrolet and the Today Show reunited Lt. Nathan Lowman with his family.

On May 18, Cindy Lowman and her daughter arrived at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch for the surprise event. “The Today Show” camera crew, posing as a crew shooting a commercial for the resort, greeted the two. The crew then proceeded to conduct an interview with Cindy. She discussed her life, her passion for Corvette and her excitement about participating in driving school. As soon as the interview wrapped, driving school instructors pulled up in Corvettes to greet Cindy and her daughter.

After the interviews wrapped up the corvettes arrived along with the instructors. Their newest instructor was Lt. Nathan Lowman. Emotions flowed as his daughter, Teagan, said “Daddy” and then gave him a big hug. You can watch the video here.

I will admit I got a little misty watching such a sweet moment. My Dad was in the Army and he is my hero, just like Lt. Nathan Lowman is his daughters hero. I grew up learning values from my Dad. Integrity, honesty and a work ethic that still surprises people. These are all traits he learned from his own father and from his time in the military.

I have so much respect for our men and women serving our country. I am grateful that they are willing to do what it takes to reserve my right to freedom. I asked my Facebook friends to send me pics of their past and present military families. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a huge turn out but some did send them to me so I was able to make this little video honoring them.
