My good friend Julee, whom I adore with my whole heart, gave me an opportunity to try these adorable candles called Trinket Candles. I was intrigued because even though the idea was like most of the jewelry candles, what you received wasn’t. There is no promise of a $5,000 ring or an iPad but you get little “trinkets” otherwise known as beads. If you have read my post DIY Jewelry you know I love making jewelry and love beads. So I was very interested in this candle.
When a friend asks you to review something you almost feel obligated to give it a good review. When I received the box in the mail I started thinking about what I was going to say if I really didn’t like this candle. Imagine my surprise when I found out Tiny Trinkets was located about 25 minutes from me in Bel-Air. I was shocked because I don’t get to review many hometown items. So I squeed a little. However, like any review I have to be honest and give my straightforward opinion.
The package came looking like it had seen better days and I was worried that maybe the candle was damaged. I felt like telling the mail lady “It only came from Bel-Air, what did you do, play soccer with it?” Holding my breath I opened it and then sighed with relief to find that the candle was undamaged. I took it out and was amazed by how pretty it was. I immediately opened it and it smelled so good. It smelled like a cupcake and that is one of my favorite scents, so I was very happy. I will admit that I immediately wanted to start digging for my goodies but I knew I had to be sensible and burn it down. It took FOREVER to burn. Seriously, I burned this candle for 3 days straight, which spoke volumes for how well it was made and the quality of the items used to make it.
I waited patiently and finally the first trinket wrapping appeared. The site says you will receive at least two, so I knew this was the first one. I let the candle cool and took it out, being careful not to destroy the candle in the process. Inside was a beautiful little white bead. I felt like I had won the lottery. The next day the final trinket wrapping was revealed and inside was TWO beads. I was so excited and they are green! So pretty. There was a bracelet attached to the candle for your “trinkets” and I was so excited over how mine looked.
I was very happy with the candle and it was worth the $15.00. I will definitely be purchasing them as gifts through out the year because I think others would enjoy them. What I didn’t like was the Tiny Trinkets site. I looked around for about 15 minutes trying to find an about me page so I could add a little about who makes these candles on this review because I always do that. I could not find one and that was so odd to me. Who made my candle? Why did they start making candles? How did they come up with this idea? Is it one person, partners, a whole family? These are questions I always have when buying from independent sites and I was disappointed I just couldn’t find it. I am not saying that it isn’t there, I am just saying I couldn’t find it on any page I clicked. Also, there is no Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest follow buttons. I had to Google to see if they had a Facebook and/or Twitter. I found their Facebook page and immediately liked it and also found them on Twitter. I hope they will include those follow buttons in the future. Ordering was really easy and I was able to order and get to check out within 5 minutes, which is a huge plus for me! I like to be in and out!
Overall I think these candles are amazing and they are a perfect gift for someone you love! You also have a chance to win one, YAY!

looks awesome..
while most all of their scents sound yummy - my most favorite will always be lilac - so lilac lace would hopefully smell as beautiful as real lilacs!

The chocolate dipped strawberry scent has me excited! Just thinking about it makes me a little hungry!
You have a good point there about the About Us section missing. It’s funny because we have one mocked up, it just isn’t live on the site yet because we could not agree on whether or not it was too self-important to include one since we are not a big company. Now that we’ve heard some feedback we’ll make sure to add it to the site. Thank you!
Hi Hillary!

YAY! I am so happy to hear that. I can’t wait to read it. It is never too self-important to include one. I for one love to read about companies, how they came about, and see the face behind the store. I am more likely to buy from a store that does include one
Thank you again for allowing me to review the candle. I really did love it!
