Elevate the Everyday
I remember when Roxy came home from the hospital. I couldn’t get enough of her and I thought everything she did was so amazing.I was so enamored I wanted to capture every single moment. But, again my photography skills were very lacking. Pointing and hoping for the best was my photography stance and thankfully I had my mother, who is an excellent photographer. But still, being a new mom, having horrible photography skills wasn’t the best thing in the world. I honestly wish I had a resource like Elevate The Everyday.
With a host of creative ideas, technical tips, poignant stories of motherhood, and inspirational images that go far beyond traditional posed shots, Tracey shows you how to unlock your creativity and document your everyday life. Accessible and encouraging, this book is for everyone who wants to document the special moments in their lives, camera in hand.
Tracey Clark is a renowned photographer and also a blogger. She is also the founder of Shutter Sisters, a blog that focuses on photography and every day moments. Her blog is as amazing as her book. While reading it, ( yes, I actually did read it and not just flip through the pretty pictures) I found practical tips and inspiring ideas to make the best moments in everyday life. I found out that posing pictures is great, getting those all to familiar birthday, holiday, and any other special occasion days are fine but sometimes it is those unplanned, quite moments that get the most memorable picture.
Every new mom, seasoned mom, grandma, or aunt should have this book. Sometimes you get so caught up in capturing that perfect shot, other silent, more overlooked shot gets away. This book shows you how to look past that and in the end you get some shots you may not have otherwise gotten. Those memories are the most precious and you will be glad you captured them.
